Jade’s organic cotton Mysore yoga rugs are perfect for all kinds of yoga classes, including Ashtanga, outdoor classes, and beach yoga.

They are made with organic cotton and all natural vegetable dyes made from herbs such as indigo, cumin and turmeric. The herbal dyes are specially made in small batches in order to get the most color and benefits from the herbs.  To see the process of dying our yarns, click here.

These rugs are handwoven by rural artisans in India, preserving a tradition and art form and providing a livelihood for weavers. Weaving is a traditional way of life for many people in this area of India, and has seen a huge decline in recent years as it can be very difficult to make a living with weaving and many people have left in search of other jobs. These rugs support the traditional weavers and allow them to use their skills to support their families. For many of them, this is the only job they have ever had and making these rugs allows them to keep this tradition alive.  To see a video with one of our weavers, please click here.

These rugs are 27” wide and 72” long and are lightweight at only 2.5 lbs. They are also machine washable making them easy to clean and care for (please note that rugs may shrink slightly in the wash). Using a rug can allow you to feel closer to the traditional roots of yoga.

With the purchase of each rug, Jade provides a week’s of hot lunches to a child in need in India.

I bought the yoga rug in turmeric yellow. It’s well-made and beautiful and fits right over my Jade yoga mat. The service with the store owner was excellent (he picked up the phone and spoke with me). The shipping was fast and came right to my door. Thank you!

I bought the tumeric rug two years ago. I love the organic cotton and that it is coloured with tumeric as I feel more connected with the earth during my practice. After the first wash it did shrink a bit, but it can still cover the average sized yoga mat. The rug requires more grip strength than a typical mat, but I don’t have a problem with slipping, if anything it’s better because it challenges me to stay active in my hands. The colour has faded a little, but as I have used it outside I would say it is very minimal. It does take a while to dry after washing, but nothing unexpected. Overall, I would highly recommend the jade yoga rug.

These are gorgeous yoga rugs! I ordered the tulasi, it’s a light earthy green colour and looks beautiful in my yoga corner. I use it over a regular yoga mat and I love the extra grip it provides, and I feel a lot more comfortable having this layer between me and the chemicals in the regular yoga mats. My kiddos enjoy sitting and reading their books on it too 🙂
